Our products include athletic shoes, apparel and accessories, as well as a broad selection of outdoor and athletic equipment for team sports, fitness, camping, hunting, fishing, tennis, golf and roller sports. Stores are spacious and well stocked. Salespeople are trained to provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service.

Big 5 operates traditional-size stores, which typically range from 8,000 to 15,000 square feet and average 11,000 square feet. Our stores are located primarily in multi-store shopping centers or free-standing street locations. We require high visibility, heavy traffic locations which encourage frequent customer visits. Big 5 is a premier draw for any shopping environment. We believe that with an average weekly distribution of over 18 million newspaper inserts or mailers, our advertisements consistently reach more households in our established markets than those of our full-line sporting goods competitors.
Founded in 1955, the company has followed a successful controlled growth strategy. During the last 5 years, Big 5 opened an average of 15 new stores per year. We plan to continue, and possibly accelerate, this growth rate over the next several years.
